FedEx driver tosses package over fence
« on: December 21, 2011, 11:09:33 AM »
I'm sure everyone's seen this video by now. FedEx delivery man tosses computer monitor over fence...

 >:(
Sucks for the recipient who supposedly (per some news reports) was home at the time and had his door open. Driver walks by a keypad that if used would have alerted the home owner to the delivery.

I've had packages from USP, FedEx, and USPS all show up damaged from time to time. None bad enough to damage the package contents though.

I used to work at a retail store in a mall-type of thing when I was young. We had shipping companies that would line the packages up on the end of their truck and kick them off as they idled past.

A few years ago we moved into a 2nd floor apartment that had a balcony.  I was expecting a new Nikon DSLR and it was shown as "delivered" WITH a signature.  I didn't sign for it, the driver just scribbled.  I looked all around, asked neighbors, and couldn't find it.  I made a claim and the UPS driver showed up and said that he threw it from the parking lot onto the balcony and he was pretty sure that it landed up there.  Not only was it not there, but WTF?

I think that a lot of fedex and ups drivers just don't care.  I guess there is no downside to delivering such crappy service.  They "lost" 1 grand of .357 sig ammo that they delivered on the wrong house.  50 phone calls later I got them to admit that they delivered on the wrong house.  I even called the house that they delivered the goods and said that UPS admitted their mistake and took the ammo back.  what a pain in the 6'.

Okay, story time so all of you sit down & grab your hot cocoa & blankies.

Recently, I had applied for a job with UPS, I figured it couldn't be that bad, and it's on almost a "Will-Hire" basis. Driver's Assistant... how hard could it be?

I went in for the Orientation/Interview at the Watertown depot. Okay, it's all going well, finally there...

Holy freakin' christ. Aside from one other gentleman who got out of the Coast Guard, the rest were drug addicts, wannabe thugs, & just the common lot of what you DO NOT want in an employee. One guy had his PAROLE officer with him, and the whole time was talking about marijuana with some brat sitting next to me.

Suffice it to say, I'm starting to think that UPS hires these seasonal workers on the whole "Welfare to Work" program. Mind you, these are convicted felons & generally scummy people they are going to have deliver some VERY expensive packages.

Aside from the former USCG fellow, I was the only one wearing slacks & a nice shirt. I called him recently, and he did not get hired; as I did not.

Moral of the story? Forget a job if you want to go with UPS. None of you on here are illiterate enough, nor have a long enough criminal background to make the cut.   >:(

my ups guy is a tool, i have a paver walkway in my front yard from the street, its a straight away walk maybe 40 feet.  the ups guy is so fat, stupid and lazy, i can see him walk maybe 20 feet and then tosses the package.  you can here it hit the house and screen door solidly.  i never thought of trying to video him but thats a good idea...... i just run out there and throw the package back at him, of course id prob get sued......

I gotta put in a good word for my UPS driver, I get a ton of stuff delivered by UPS (Thank you Amazon Prime) and my guy is super courteous and I have never had a problem with his deliveries. So they are not all bad.

Same here.  I get alot of inventory delivered via UPS, and my regular guy is a pro.  He calls ahead a few minutes before the truck pulls in to make sure there's someone there to receive the packages instead of just leaving them where they might get stolen.

I also had all my packages delivered well by UPS, FED EX, and the USPS. The guys and girls who deliver to my house are great with handling my packages. I will admit sometimes they will not follow delivery instructions on where to leave the packages, but they are there and received all undamaged.

Ditto! As with most thing, the few clods get all the press and the 98 percent that are great get no recognition.
