Beretta 92FS or M9 ?
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:34:42 PM »
I am thinking of getting a Beretta 92FS or M9. Can't make up my mind on which one. It seems to me that they are pretty much the same except for the sights which is a three dot configuration on the 92FS and dot and post on the M9.

Any thoughts on which might be better?

Thanks

Jim

Frankly, this an issue of half-a-dozen-of-one-six-of-another.

IIRC, the M9 has a steel guiderod, and that's pretty much the only difference other than sights.
Sometimes you just have to Cowboy Up.

I just switched from a 92FS to a M9 (only as a matter of personal preference) and these are the key differences between the 2 in front of me:

Sights- 3 dot on 92fs, 2 dot on M9
Dust cover- Slightly slanted upward on 92FS, straight on M9
Grip- is relieved a little more under the beavertail on 92, more material on M9
Markings- different between the two
Guide Rod- Both plastic (92 is 2009, M9 is 2010)

Which on is better:  The one you get the best deal on, because functionally they are exactly the same 8)
