Too light to be controllable. Regular .38's buck pretty darn hard, & .357's are good wrist-twisters.

Aside from that, revolvers are absolutely useless! Don't you read gun magazines or watch the Walking Dead???  :P

I have a Smith & Wesson 340SC revolver. The little beast is super light weight and extremely easy to carry. It is probably the most perfect carry peice I've ever owned. It does not have to be fired with hottest .357 magnums, but it is pretty darned accurate with them.

It is most certainly not a gun for beginners or people with weak or easily injured hands. It is a real blast, but if I shoot more than a few cylinders full of hot magnums it will make my hands feel numb (like catching a fast ball with bare hands). With some loads the revolver doubles as a flame thrower

If you find the magnums to be too much, remember that you can use regular .38 specials in the 340PD as well. The new Speer 135gr .357 magnum "short barrel" loads (part number 23917) are mid-range loads designed for the 2" barrel, that are good & hot but not quite as brutal as the full magnum loads.

I had a 329pd (44mag) for awhile.    One problem I noticed was the internal safety would halfway engage itself while shooting.  Just enough to lock up the cylinder.  S&W said I was wrong and not unlocking it correctly.   Not sure if that problem might extend to all the superlight revolvers.

I forgot to mention that I removed the ridiculous internal lock on my 340sc. The recoil forces are so extreme that the internal lock is almost certain to not operate as designed and tie up the works.

I cannot personally recomend that anybody remove the idiotic internal lock, but there are plenty of internet helps if you Google "S&W internal lock removal". It does not take long if you're mechanically inclined

I have a 340PD and I like it because it is light enough that I will actually carry it with me. Yes, it can be punishing to shoot. When I take it to the range, I shoot one cylinder's worth of ammo and then I'm "done".

While I did test a similar gun (340SC) with .357 Magnum rounds (ouch), what I actually use is 135 gr. .38 special +P gold dots for both practice and as carry ammunition. I have also tried a 115 gr. Corbon round that is made for short-barrel revolvers, and thought that it was a good match for the gun, but those are somewhat more expensive.

I bought the gun with the plain grip, but later replaced it with the Crimson Trace laser grip. It helps to show how poor my aim can be. You won't use this gun for long-distance target shooting...

There are (at least) two variations of the sights - mine has the HiViz front sight, which I prefer over the other ramped-style front sight.

The wife and I both carry 360PD's.   I prefer the .357's because they have a stainless strip to prevent top strap cutting. With laser grips, they are on point as soon as it breaks the plane of my waist band. Shoot from the hip....lol!

Sound enough logic I suppose.

According to a few resident gun-'sperts round these parts, J-frame-esque guns are absolutely worthless though. You need a semi-auto with hogue-wraparounds & a thermal-red-dot-sight and 33rnd. magazines and and and and and...

(Did it work?)  ;)

Not for me. In my world if I can't control that gun with both hands singularly and repeatedly then I find something else. Wether revolver or semi.
