Those lightweight 380s carry real well with gym shorts or running pants, something you cant do with a 357 or a 45....


This isn't entirely true.

I managed to wear basketball shorts & tee shirts ALL summer- this summer- while carrying my Glock 30 (double stack .45) & the weight & size of the Glock 30 never bothered me.

Sure a .380 might be small enough to fit in someone elses flip flop when they're not looking, but not in every situation will anybody have the time to use their range finder & fire a well placed shot in a stressfull self defense senario.

IMHO if you can afford ammo for a .380 to practice with, you can definitely afford ammo in another (LARGER, ADEQUATE) self defense caliber. FYI: I just traded my Sig P238 for a Ruger sp101 (my new SHTF gun, I already carry a Glock 27).


Just a comment on my personal opinion (which we're all entitled to), not Gospel. =)

Forgot to mention, I carrying my G30 in a Crossbreed Supertuck.
