Mini Revolver .22 Magnum
« on: November 20, 2011, 08:59:35 PM »
Just picked up this and stopped by the Bridgeport range to test it out. Pretty fun little gun.

Indeed.  It's a fun little gun.  I recall a woman killing a bg twice her mass with a .22lr version a few months back before he could rape her.

I've never shot only held one. At the time I was unimpressed. But I saw one with a bit longerbarrel and adjustable. That I could use! Would make a great lil gun for fishing trips.

Also saw the guy on the aligator show use one on a. Gator in a headlock.

With magnum loads I was surprised at the noise this little thing makes. Granted it is a .22, sure as hell wouldn't want to get shot by one.

Is that a NAA or a Freedom arms?

I had a freedom arms and regret selling it. It was very nicely made. Like jewelry with a purpose.

With 22mags its quite accurate.

On the 1st I had it at the range. At10yds I had a pop bottle hangin from a string.  Reg cotton butcher twine.  I put 5 for 5 on the string. Wouldn't cut it but made it jump around

I think the fmj pushed the string to the side.

I actually had the pleasure of firing the .22mag a few times.

HOLY F'EN CRAP IT'S LOUD. It needs more smoke to be enjoyable though.

I have a .22 long I carry in my watch pocket of my jeans all the time as a backup. It's loud and at less than 10 yards is quite accurate. By the way,.22's have killed more folks than most other hand guns!! That's supposedly factual! Wish I could remember where I read that though. It's some trivia I retain for some reason!! LOL

.22lr may indeed have killed more people, but it didn't necessarily stop them in time.  Fatality statistics are misleading that way.  It doesn't matter to the defender if the attacker dies a week or three after he's already been killed by said attacker.  Still, most confrontations are ended without a shot being fired, and a .22lr is better than throwing one's keys.

Have you checked out Aguila .22lr Sniper Subsonic?  It's a long 60gr projectile, with better sectional density for deeper penetration at close range.  And it likes to tumble.  Heavier, lower velocity bullets tend to work better in short barreled weapons.
