I really like this pistol because of the Design.

With the 2" barrel supposedly it has quite low recoil with full loads and sickly accurate.

Any input?

the guy from gun blast has a vid of him shooting it at the shot show and the recoil looks dramatically reduced

I read a review about it in Handguns magazine, and it got rave reviews from Masaad Ayoob, shotting 1" groups with the 2" subcompact at 25yards.

Looks interesting. I might be interested in something like this. specially since I already have some.357 guns.

I think it looks very cool! I'd have to see one in person to make my final call.

If I recall correctly, this design idea is not something new. I believe it has been tried in the past and didn't fair too well. I can't seem to recall what company came out with the idea.

An interesting concept. The review that I read said that since the axis of the bore is straight out from your hand it drives directly back instead of rising and actually increases felt recoil. They went on to say that it was uncomfortable to shoot.

I'll have to try that then sometime. From what I've read the low bore-axis helps tame the recoil a lot.

Makes sense, but won't know until I try one in person.

I believe the previous incarnation of this idea was called the "Mateba" and was made in Italy.  According to Wikipedia, the designer of the original Mateba is also involved in this effort from Chiappa.

I wish they made them with interchangeable barrels/shrouds like a Dan Wesson.  That would be fun.

The more reviews I read, the more it appears that the design actually moderates recoil. However, it has the ergonomics of a hairdryer.

I like the idea. It has been done before, as mentioned above. The real estate above the barrel and below the front sight is just begging for an internal lazer.
