OCCUPATION - Interesting 2-part MiniSeries from the UK about Iraq.

Did anyone else see it? Puts a nice and gritty story behind the British soldiers during the occupation of Iraq and goes into some details about Private Contractors operating there too.

I watched it on Netflix. They wouldn't let it on US television.  :D

Good show. Finally sat down and watched each of the two parts this past week on Netflix. Some powerful scenes in the show especially near the end.

The Brits had such a rude awakening in Iraq.  With all their experience in Malaya and fighting counterinsurgency campaigns in their old post WWII empire, they thought they had such good doctrine and expertise but what they brought to Iraq was woefully wrong and inadequate that soldier's lives were lost as a result.

Culturally, they have gone too far left that their politicians and populace lack the will to fight a prolonged war.  I mean they have even gone to banning "pointed knives" in the country.  In the past, British squaddies would not have think twice of machine gunning a tribe of rebelling native subjects.

In any case, I have seen parts of the show.  It was bloody good.
