AR15 pistol build complete
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:19:51 PM »

Well I finally finished my first build. Stole the idea from myglimk (pinning the magazine so I can have whatever features I want) still have some small details to finish but here it is

-aero precision lower
-cmmg lower parts kit
-phase 5 tactical pistol buffer tube
-vortex red dot
-JSE surplus complete upper 7" stainless steel barrel
-Troy claymore muzzle brake
-magpul moe + grip
-free float quad rail
-cammenga magazine

With the cammenga magazine I can still drop the front part of the magazine while staying pinned to the lower and reload.

Can you show how that works? We may have to do the same in the near future for our AR's. LOL

I don't have any pictures but I can take some tonight. If I have time ill pop off the bolt catch and show the pin. Pretty much screw the magazine release all the way in and drill through the top where the bolt release is into the magazine button and put a pin in. Front of the mag still drops free. You won't be able to load a full 30 rounds due to the magwell covering part of the magazine but I suspect around 20-25 rounds. I will try a test out tonight.

Is that a AOW or a Pistol? Just wondering if you paid the stamp for it yet, to have that front vertical style grip. Just because the magazine is pinned does not mean you can do what you want with it. The pistol still must fall under CT's legal definition for a pistol, which sucks. Other than that it looks great!!!

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms..disarm only those who r neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes..Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants..TJefferson

for an AR, it is 12.1"bbl with a pistol buffer tube. not a pistol because the bbl is over 12 inches, but not a rifle because its not designed to be fired from the shoulder. two ways of firing it, from the hand, and well you can figure out the other way, lol

you can do it an AK, FAL, etc. just gota make sure its 26 oal per ATF. and over a 12 bbl for CT laws.

and the most important, is it starts life as a virgin receiver

almost positive that because it doesnt have a detachable mag, you dont have to follow the AWB.

like with the aidscannon, its considered an OTHER, so it falls in between laws, and doesnt have to follow the AWB, ie, detachable mag, FH, bayo lug
