Re: .44 Mag lever guns and recoil

Not exactly relevant to the original post, but if you were to seek the .44s smaller cousin, there's a pretty Browning B92 chambered in .357 Magnum at M&B in North Stonington (at least it was there yesterday)....

Like the single shot response, though its still a rifle. Is there some exception to single shot rifles cut down beyond 16 inches with no tax stamp or approval from the feds?    Hope mr. glory boy "look at me I'm doing something" will be happy with his fifteen minutes of fame there. ...

IN other news: Gatling gun, 200 rounds per minute (i.e. over 3 shots per second) invented in 1861, not adopted by any military force until 1864. Perfectly legal for civilian purchase and use, and as far as I know never "banned", although it's probably not technically legal in today's CT...The Gatling gun is perfectly legal here in CT.  And, it would also be legal in any sort of "bump stock", "rate of fire accelerator device", or AW ban.  It is a manually operated firearm, and you are not adding any type of crank to a semi auto gun.  It is neither a rifle or pistol, but a manually operated, carriage mounted "other".  However, any type of feeding device you had for it would have to have a 10 round limit. The language in th...

Re: anyone using mail.com for email provider?
by Bottom Rung | February 20, 2018, 06:45:27 PM
I have Gmail. It works fine.  It is my understanding that Gmail saves all your data, emails, etc. In other words, all your information can and will be used against you, whether by our friendly feds or the leftist Google monster. I recently opened a free account with Proton mail. I would encourage you to look into them well before Gmail.  Proton mail is a subscription service albeit they do provide a limited storage free account option.  Unfortunately, there is a price to privacy or at least some shred of it. Once I stop being lazy, I plan on switching my email over to Proton Mail entirely. ...

Re: M&P 2.0c or 2.0 4.25 with Apex
by brianc401 | February 19, 2018, 07:32:28 PM
I would say no, CCP is not a very popular division.. even at the state/regional/national level.  If you don't plan on shooting any tier 3 matches or above, go for it.Personally I'd stay with a full size and shoot ESP over CCP as the competition will be much better.Interesting. Thanks for the reply. So, is CCP not so popular beyond the local matches because at that level people are in it to win/compete?... rather than just training what they carry?I figured another option was to just keep training with the full size (with the apex) and enjoy what I have. Then, once I’m more experienced and it’s available for the 2.0, I could get the ‘performance slide and barrel’ kit. I think the kit for the orig is around $400. Just as expensive as a whole other gun. But I’d prob l...

Re: .223 bolt action - Mossy MVP??
by CTSixshot | February 19, 2018, 05:28:11 PM
I hear you. Were I flush with cash, I'd need about forty rifles to handle all of the calibers I reload. Never had any dies for the 7.62x45mm so I guess I can pass on a vz52. Sold the .256 Winchester Magnum dies, so I can also pass on a Ruger Hawkeye pistol, too....

Everyone knows Matt Bevin is previously of East Hampton, Connecticut- right? His family’s bell factory, the last of its kind, burned down in 2012. Matt Bevin himself accepted $100,000 from the state of CT (ex: you taxpayers). He never rebuilt the factory. Pro-2a or not, he’s an asshat that stole CT tax dollars and left another brownfield crater for someone else to handle.http://articles.courant.com/2012-06-20/business/hc-bevin-bell-loans-20120620_1_matt-bevin-sleigh-bells-state-grantsPictured here in 2012 giving Blumenthal a tour of the fire before accepting $$$:https://cdn.patchcdn.com/users/98488/2012/07/T800x600/d72a81f8ce9103a6589ca8255b6bdec9.jpg...

Cool. Glad to hear you are active at the reload bench and range.Have you ever used Lil' Gun in your .357 Magnum loads (158g + above)?I've always been intrigued by the significant drop in pressures with LG over 296, H110, etc. and the slight edge in velocity. Very little difference in .44 Magnum. I no longer have the Redhawk, but you'll have to try my .40 S&W case-based bullets filled with shot and wax. Of course, the .44s are great for old farts like me to see and handle at the bench!https://i.imgur.com/HG9mGyv.jpgThe middle cartridge is a .45 AR, of course.JerryD: there's a gentleman over at Wat Lao Kittisilaram (Bpt) that was a Brigade Commander in the Royal Lao Army. One of these days we should meet up and visit him, if interested. He was working with the US duri...
