Re: Police Misconduct in Naugatuck.
by safeaction | Today at 02:51:52 PM
A few years ago I had a neighbor call my local PD, saying I was shooting. At the time I was working on a motorcycle that was in my garage, noticed my dog stand up and alert so I peeked out the garage.  Coming down the drive way a cruiser (driveway is about 500', so people don't generally come all the way down to the house just to turn around), when the officer exited his vehicle I asked him if I could help him, he explained that he had received a call that I as shooting on my property (which I hadn't been, couple of the people in my neighbor hood have larger pieces of land, and probably had caused the shots reported).  I told him that I was not shooting and even if I had been, I wasn't aware of any laws that would be violated (it was pretty obvious and even the...

Re: Shoulder rig recommendations for Glock 29 or 1911?
by imahangtia | Today at 08:17:00 AM
I've seen the Andrews Leather videos.  It looks like very nice stuff.  His rigs start around $300 and there is a significant waiting period.  Maybe in the future if I end up using a shoulder rig often. The Galco I bought is like new, was available now, and was $100....

Re: Arisaka length of pull
by CTSixshot | Yesterday at 05:27:58 PM
Remember, the Japanese soldiers were giants! As per Wikipedia:Length (Type 99) 1,118 mm (44.0 in) or 1,258 mm (49.5 in) The Type 99 was produced in four versions, the regular issue Type 99 Short Rifle, the Type 99 Long Rifle (a limited production variant) and takedown Type 2 Paratroop Rifle and the Type 99 Sniper Rifle. The standard rifle also came with a wire monopod and an anti-aircraft sighting device. The Type 99 was the first mass-produced infantry rifle to have a chrome lined bore to ease cleaning. All of these features were abandoned by mid-war.

Re: Black Friday / Cyber Monday
by THE MADNESS | November 17, 2017, 09:22:36 PM
Ya, I get it, you're better than me.  So what time should I get there? Not better at all, I have no clue what time, in today's day and age I choose not to be in a situation where I can become a easy target as well, black Friday is a haven for greedy individuals rushing to get deals,I am different than most, (and cue the peanut gallery)I choose to get or make personal gifts for the ones I care about, ExamplesThere was a Chinese girl named Sabrina Zou that set up a booth in the Trumbull mall, she is a artist, I would have her do drawings for me for gifts, on multiple occasions she drew friends and family members children in their Baptism outfits, I had one done for my mother, it was a drawing of me when I was a toddler and then when I was in my mid 20s, one more was of my famil...

Re: Permit renewal
by sbhaven | November 17, 2017, 08:13:43 PM
Did you need to submit a copy of your birth certificate?  I seem to recall reading that some place.  Seems redundant since we all did that to get the original permit.See the Instructions to Applicants which explains what is needed for both new permits and renewals both in person and by mail. Permits - Renewal In-Person1. All pistol permits may be renewed in person at DESPP Headquarters ninety (90) days prior to expiration or up to ninety (90) days after expiration. No permit can be renewed after the ninety (90) day grace period following the expiration date.2. Confirm the accuracy of the information on DPS-129-C. If corrections are required, draw a single line through any incorrect ...
