questions on a Winchester Model 94 30-30
by IamJohninCT | Today at 06:03:57 AM
Hello.  I have some questions about a Winchester Model 94 30-30 WIN lever action that I got from a relative many years ago – but I don’t know anything about it.  The serial number is 4067### - from what I can search on the internet it looks like that makes it a 1974 vintage.  Is this correct?  The receiver is not blue – it looks like a bare metal grey that is turning a little gold/copper color.  Shouldn’t it have been blued?  If not, what is it called?  Also, there is a peep site marked Williams.  Is this factory – or – aftermarket?  Thank you in advance for your help!  ...
Re: Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Red Planet Arsenal!
by MadSmith | Today at 02:17:06 AM
He’ll be looking. Are there any “finished” pics I can show him to entice him some more? I love making him go back and forth between the RPA-5 and the 300blk build he’s trying to do, lol.More pics, and available to order!https://www.redplanetarsenal.com/product-page/rpa-p5Also, on your web site. In the “Shop” section, all the black lettering is hard to see with the dark backgrounds behind it in certain spots. You might want to either change the lettering color or go with a lighter background.Fixed!  Thanks!  ;D...

the ones at jojos have high end uppers from Nordic components,  have the trijicon rmo and the sb tactical sbpdw brace and a nice cerakote job.  pricey for my budget as well, but you know exactly what parts and from whom your getting them from. not unbranded parts specifically made for a price point ...

Re: IV8888 - "Our Top Reloading Powders"
by inmyshadow | Yesterday at 02:31:39 PM
I learned this lesson as I started loading for more and more calibers.  I started to pair down to powders I could use for several calibers. For me, I've been using CFE pistol, CFE223, CFEBLK and H4198.  This covers  my pistol, rifle and magnum loads.  I haven't gotten to deep into shotgun loading yet.  I have the press and have played around, but no commitments.  Still looking at tools for slugs and buckshot.  Walmart keeps clearing out shotgun shells/slugs so I keep stocking up on loaded ammo instead of tools.I don't experiment much with different loads.  Once I find a powder and load that works for me I stick to it.  If I had more time maybe I would experiment more....

Re: Would a magazine coupler liek this be legal on CT legal 10rnd mags?
by Mustang | August 12, 2018, 08:57:58 AM
The stupid law:"(1) “Large capacity magazine” means any firearm magazine, belt, drum, feed strip or similar device that has the capacity of, or can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than ten rounds of ammunition, but does not include: (A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds of ammunition, (B) a .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device, (C) a tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm, or (D) a magazine that is permanently inoperable;"Now if one used that on declared magazines it might be legal but who knows.Would be fun to run that on two declared 31 round mags in a Glock.  :evil:Heck not for nothing then every 10/30 magzine being sold in the stores is illegal. Illegal ...

True, make some turbo kit for it n be done with it. Keep it at 6psi n run it. Didn't really toss that option round to much, it being like candy in front of s kid...wanting more power. Though money might keep me from going there.  I'm done playing with engines for more gobs of power. I know how much it was to build my Mustang and its still not finished.  Oh I see know, for the heads and intake. Would get more power with the heads. This is something I will do when the warranty is over. ...

Re: (Permit) Wait Times in Wethersfield.
by The Baron | August 11, 2018, 04:16:01 AM
I'd check with the SFLU to see if (or more importantly when) they sent your background check back to the town.  The town only has five business days after they receive it from the SFLU to  approve or deny your permit.  Any longer it's pretty much a "constructive denial" and you should start the appeals process.  Remember it's the individual towns holding up the process - not the state.  If it was the state - why would some towns be issuing the permit in 3 weeks while other towns are taking 3 months? You make some good points.I rang SFLU & they said they’re backlogged something fierce.Perhaps I should call Records on Monday?...

http://ccdl.us/blog/2018/08/10/hands-on-campaign-workshop/Hands-On Campaign WorkshopPosted on August 10, 2018 by ChrisGun control groups are marching on.
