When someone bores an audience to death with an incredibly uninspiring presentation that relies entirely on an excessive number of overly-dense PowerPoint slides.

Does the 6.8SPC work in normal AR magazines?

I'm currently favoring 300 BLK in supersonic for HD. It shoots well in a 10" barrel with a suppressor.

To work 100% reliably, 6.8 SPC requires a different magazine. I think LWRCI built a 6.8 rifle for a Saudi contract. It had slightly different dimensions to accommodate the 6.8 SPC.

I forget what the magic number is but most standard magazines will work okay with a limited number of rounds, say 10 or 15.

The 300 is definitely the way to go currently. It is actually in front line use with tip o’ the spear types. It’s also far more popular in the civilian world than 6.8 SPC ever was.

As a side note, I think the military’s current interest in 6.8 has more to do with choosing a bore diameter to pursue further testing and design, rather than the selection of any specific cartridge.

This is correct. I actually have some pinned 6.8 mags if anyone is looking for them, $10 cash each.

The .277 Wolverine gives you the .277" diameter bullets with the same .378" dia. rim (its parent case is the 5.56x45mm, not the .30 Remington like the 6.8 SPC).
Can't say if it's superior or inferior for home defense.

The .277 Wolverine (277 WLV) was designed to effectively utilize abundant 5.56 cases and 6.8 (.277) projectiles in various weights.  It combines excellent performance with versatility by using all standard AR15 mil-spec parts and magazines, with a barrel swap being the only thing necessary.

For the reloader, there's always a large supply of .277" diameter bullets in New England, as the .270 Winchester seems to be unloved here.

I'll stick with 300BLK since we can't buy standard magazines any longer. I'd rather have 30 rounds then go with a new cartridge and get limited to 10.

Not to mention there is always new bullet designs for different performance in 300BLK. I wouldn't want to be hit even with the worst performing 300 BLK subsonic.
