Is it legal to shorten the barrel of a revolver?

so long as the barrel is under 12". There are plenty of revolver barrels on ebay and gunbroker.

Yes, with one exception:  If it can hold shotgun shells, you cannot shorten the barrel to zero.  Because at that point it would become a 'pistol that fires shotgun shells' which would be an AOW.   :evil:
