Perhaps this is why ranges don't want you shooting steel-cased ammo (can't say if steel shot shells caused a spark, but it appears the ejected hull lit it off):

that had nothing to do with a hot shell casing weather it was brass or steel
probable smoldering powder or wadding
but there WAS definitely other problems there

Hard to tell if it was left hand guy's shotgun shell being ejected that triggered the fire. But it appears to have started under the decking in the lower left just in front of the bench rest. Wonder what was so flammable under that decking to cause such a quick flareup?.
Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.

red planet arsenal had this on their facebook page and i think it was a mix of unburnt powder mixing with the floor being covered in motor oil to prevent termites or some shit. and of course the stupidity of shooting the dragons breath rounds indoors.......

Every time you fire a round a few granules of powder don't burn and they fall to the floor in front of the firing port.  If you build a structure like that planking in the video, you create a perfect place for that unburned powder to accumulate.  Sooner or later one little spark is going to find its way in there and your range goes kablooey.  I remember Colt's test range went up a while ago and the fire caused a lot of damage.  The indoor range at Metacon used to be loose rock in front of the firing line until we discovered the hard way that it was a great place for unburned powder to accumulate.  Fortunately there was a member there who was quick to take action and it took every fire extinguisher in the place, but the fire was put out before it burned the whole joint down.
