Must be. I've yet to see a tent city erected on the green for immigrants.

I don't think so.  I recall Edward Meyer, the State Senator from that district, at the time of Sandy Hook argued that firearm ownership should be restricted to single shot muzzle loaders, you know, like they had during the Revolution.  And he was followed by one of the Kennedy spawn.  So no, I don't think it's Trump country.

Speaking of Kennedy spawn whatever happened to Ted "my daddy killed Mary Jo" Kennedy?  I thought he was a CT state senator, but I haven't heard a peep from him in a while.

Hell no.  Guilford is ground zero for the anti-gun contingent in CT.

Guilford taxpayer here- town is 50/50 actually. Most of town is rural, even right to shoreline in places. Lots of AG. Red blooded.  We shoot and hunt. Yes, plenty of blue in suburbia, but you’d be surprised how conservative the wealthy upper-crust are along with the traditional conservative middle class. They’re not going to sacrifice face for 2a issues though. Lots of small business owners with everything at stake if a handful of anti-2a people choose to crucify them. Not worth it, not in today’s hyper-super-charged environment.

The parents who were the face of the storage law wanted a monument for their son and had money for lawyers. That’s just what the well-off wealthy do and it’s rarely about politics or any consideration or anything of an issue that means something to anyone else. If their son was hit by a train they’d be pushing for a law that their has to be crosswalks on Amtrak lines.

you wouldn't know it by the way the town votes.  Been here around 40 years.  Town has changed dramatically over the past 25 years or so.

Did you vote in the recent referendum?

Guilford - Just had a student get a temp permit issued in around three and a half weeks.

That's good news that a town is following the rules!

Couple years ago I had a student from Willimantic get her temporary permit in two weeks (10 business days)

Towns that drag their feet and blame the state for the delay are simply lying
