What to do with wet stainless media?
« on: April 13, 2019, 07:44:40 AM »

I finally got around to building my wet tumbler.  It works great and I have stainless media on the way to me.

What do you guys do with your wet media after use?

This reminds me!  Last time I used my wet tumbler (several months ago), I left the pins/water in it!!  Guess I need to check to see how stainless those pins are.
Politicians, like diapers, should be changed frequently and for the same reasons.

Yuk!  Gross!

Do you not flush toilet, or leave dirty dishes in the sink, or wear the same underwear two days in a row?

By a combination of inverting, and reversing, one can actually get 4 wearing out of a pair of underwear!!!!

I let the steel pins air dry after a cycle,  so far so good. I switched to wet short while ago after dealing with to much residue on my tumbled brass? Happy with the results but it's more work. And if you wanna clean out primer pockets decap prior, I only been doing this for riffle brass.

I left my stainless media in water for months... as long as it is good stainless 18-8 or 316 stainless you should be fine to never let it dry.
Shoot as much as you can...

My main concern is mold and other disgusting things growing on it if it stays wet.  Maybe I'll try adding a little bleach after use.

Just keep the media covered in water in your tumbler barrel, you will have no issues with mold. I never have.

I also use this stuff... it works great. I find it does work better than pins. Been using this stuff for years and have never had to replace it.

Why not just spread it out on a towel until it air drys?
