So what you're saying is, ignoring the problem again and again and again, and allowing it to eventually culminate in a complete disaster gives them the authority to do whatever they want?
The unfortunate reality is on more than a few issues the Democratic leadership in the state house (and their rank and file) simply do not care what the voters think or care. We saw it with the "temporary" income tax (FU Whiker >:() back in 1991. See You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login about the 40,000 who showed up to protest. Did that protest work? Are we still paying an income tax?

There have been several protests over the years to try and prevent more anti rights gun laws. Pro gun politicians, both Democratic and Republican, threw us all under the bus in the name of "bipartisanship" post Sandy Hook.

Like it or not the Democrats pushing this toll bill are lying to we citizens. They know full well they will use it as a slush fund rather than locking it all away for transportation funds. They know full well they will spend millions building the gantries and it will take many years to see a return on that spending. The Democrats are also talking about raising the gas tax on top of enacting tolls. The media is quick to play down this "bad news" to the public. Often not highlighting the issue of the fuel tax being raised when talking about tolls.

Now we see the Democratic leadership using smoke and mirrors along with parliamentary tricks to try and get tolls enacted in such a way that none of them have to go fully on the record in favor of it.

Our problem is there are simply too many voters who don't care. Who continually vote for Democrats even though they know those very same Democrats are going to confiscate more money from them. Not to mention a fair number of Democratic voters in the inner cities who assume they won't be impacted, that the "rich" will pay for it. Everyone is upset about the tolls but many simply don't think anything they can do about it. The apathetic CT populous has been whipped into submission (by 50+ years of Democratic leadership) so the Democrats can do pretty much what ever they want without fear of reprisal (being voted out of office).

Can things be changed for the better? Don't know. All the above is one reason why so many are fleeing the state.

Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.

People are so stupid they believe the lies and I hear people agreeing we need tolls.

The connected cronies that will be reaping a windfall building them definitely think we need them.
