Can we (legally) carry in banks and bars?
« on: March 09, 2019, 03:09:04 PM »

I am sure this has been beaten to death more than a few times but...

While at the gun club this morning I was being told we can not carry in either of these places.

I said it is legal to carry in these places unless they posted a sign that it is a GFZ.

I always carry in the bank, I rarely ever go to a bar but I'd like to know.

Thanks!

I love CT. I've lived here my entire life, it's all the socialists and libtards that I hate.

You are correct, the gun club is wrong.

Another question- or problem, when given a sobriety test.... you are given 2 tests. the first at the arrest site and the other an hour later- how does this work for guns? I am sure that it works against you but that would not appear to be legal

Any time you hear something like that, ask them to quote the specific statute that backs up their claim. Often times they can't. Its always; "well I heard if from a friend who heard it from a friend". Or worse the; "I heard it from my pistol permit instructor".

Like said above if the bank or bar isn't specifically signed as a victim rich zone then it's legal to carry. And as mentioned above if you do drink while in a bar be aware of the 0.08 BAC limit for carrying while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.

I would never set foot in a bank without a gun on me and a heightened awareness.

Thank you gentlemen. I was absolutely certain I was correct and they were wrong but when I was being told this I started to question myself.

A bar is fine but I wouldn't have a drop just to be safe I'm not a big drinker anyway. I've even open carried in my bank although it felt weird.

If you're being given a sobriety test, you more than likely are already screwed.
