Openly carrying around something bad people want like a Rolex, gun, fancy sneakers, etc. is an open invitation to be robbed.  Just because it is legal doesn't make it the smart thing to do.

Avoiding ghettos and not looking like a target are effective strategies.

I only started carrying because my job takes me to shitty, ghetto areas. It's unavoidable. Multiple times I have been the only skinny white boy in the hood trying to deliver materials to an empty job site or load a machine on my trailer in the middle of the night and had all of the local thug life take notice. If I don't get out of there fast enough, they invariably start moving in my direction. They don't say hi, they don't act civil, they don't play games. They circle like vultures then crowd in like wolves. When I move so that my gun is visible, they immediately turn around and GTFO and leave me alone. Not a story I heard, not my buddy or coworker, not once, not a few times... this has happened TO ME literally hundreds of times. Anyone who tells me open carrying isn't a dissuasive force in being left TF alone may as well try to tell me water is dry and 2+2=5. Save your breath.

I’m still hung up on the knucklehead trying to score phone numbers and 2A credibility while armed with a shotgun, two handguns and a knife.

Turning this into an OC vs CC/what went wrong/situational awareness seminar is really giving this attempted constitutional Casanova too much credit.

i carry everywhere I go in the state, dont care what the signs say.... as long as no metal detectors to walk through, they can smell the seat.

on the other hand......

if i could live on a nice island in the caribbean, i would love to not carry a gun.   ;D

I assume that you are talking about a deserted Island in the Caribbean. Have you checked out the Per capita Murder rate in the Caribbean islands? They are a lot higher then the USA.

So he pulled the shot gun on the guy? Why didn't he shoot him? he grabbed his gun then aimed it at him... im sure any Police officer would have shot this guy for even just attempting to take his gun. Hmmmm I wonder how many girls numbers he got before some street bum made him look like a dumb arse?
