Shit happens, I love my vz, they're great rifles and its a crime you haven't got a detachable mag version. I still think I rumbled madsmith plan to introduce a Bren 805, he would have got away it had it no been those meddling kids and their dog

Either way, enjoy new stuff, stock up on ammo and go shoot stuff.

Yup, the Bren for a non-NFA .223/5.56 platform.  ;D

You Magnificent Sod, If I lived in CT, I'd be in your shop way too often.  :afro: ;D

Let me guess you're working on this now?

It's in the 'available for custom build' list, though the cost is a factor, as one could almost get a preban for the price of a CZ Bren.

Appearance:
Replace buttstock with forearm brace, add foregrip, shorten barrel and add a pinned muzzle brake.

In actuality, can't legally convert the rifle, so have to build it from either a receiver or a pistol.

I believe that the pistol version has an 11" barrel, but it's not clear if that includes the muzzle device.  If not, then adding a longish muzzle device would do the trick I'd think?

Yup, I pin a muzzle brake or custom machined and aligned threaded barrel extension to bring it up to legal length.

I'm thinking about getting a "little brother" for my Bren.

How hard would it be to do a Scorpion with a proper threaded 12" barrel, suitable for use with an FBA for a can?
