Sunday night eats
« on: August 06, 2017, 05:44:31 PM »

Grilling some or Italian sausage with onions and peppers on the grill, some local corn from eddy farms in Newington
( silver queen, butter & sugar and their own grown honey bun)

I rarely see yellow corn, I had some 4 or 5 years ago but that was the 1st time in decades. I really don't care for white corn cuz over the past 25 years I have tried it on and off and it lacks good corn flavor. I tried some the other day at a local stand and was amazed at how good it was. I still prefer bicolor or yellow but it was very good.
I love CT. I've lived here my entire life, it's all the socialists and libtards that I hate.

The full yellow is the honey bun. The stand where I get the fresh  veggies is in Newington by the police department

Great stuff there

Try Anderson farms in wethersfield.  They have great corn, white, b+s and yellow. And you'd be surprised who they supply with corn.

Get an Inch of water boiling, put corn in for 8 or 9 mins, covered. Drain water, and enjoy. If it's good enough, no butter or nonsense needed.

Thanks guys but I'm in Harwinton so driving over there for corn isn't practical. BTW, I have steamed corn for a couple of decades, boiling isn't necessary and takes a long time. I save the water and freeze it for soup stock.

I had some left over spice rubs and marinade from last nights chicken yakitori - so I used it on some ribs...  falling off the bone tender - served with biscuits and a fresh heirloom tomato
