S&W M+P 9mm Performance Center trigger job vs APEX
« on: May 19, 2017, 05:15:32 AM »

So I'm debating (with myself) whether to send my M+P 9c to S&W for their Performance Center trigger job or or got the Apex route and install their Apex Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit for the M&P.  Anyone here have experience with either?

TIA

Only with the Shield, not the 9c, but I'm not sure that the experience doesn't relate. I haven't shot a Performance Center gun, but I have had opportunity to play with the trigger. It might be a little better than the regular one, but not by enough to say definitively without actually shooting it. Meanwhile, the Apex duty carry kit transformed my gun profoundly. I'm craving a new Shield .45, but I won't even consider one until Apex makes a trigger for it.

I have a 9 Pro which I believe had the same trigger job as the "send in" performance center version.  While the Pro trigger was noticeably better, I still replaced it with an Apex.  As JBear said, the Apex is a profound improvement.  Hugely better.

Go with the Apex. Hands down the best triggers for these guns. This as close as you get to a 1911 in polymer gun. Factory Performance Center stuff doesn't even come close.
I have 2 5" PC 9mm, I use specifically for competition. They have the FSS kits with the red flatty triggers. Both guns have thousands of rounds through them without a hiccup.
Now recently i picked up a Shield .45. I installed the DAEK kit with the black aluminum curved trigger. Miles ahead of factory. The shield only has 4-500 through it, but has also been flawless.
Go with Apex you wont be sorry you did.
