SC Governor: The Second Amendment Is Your Concealed Carry Permit
by AWR Hawkins18 Apr 2017

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) says a House Bill to eliminate a concealed carry permit requirement is “constitutional,” and he “will sign it if it reaches his desk.”
On April 6, Breitbart News reported that the South Carolina House passed permitless carry legislation sponsored by state Rep. Mike Pitts (R-14). That legislation, which would abolish the need for concealed carry permits, is now with the Senate.
Pitts’ bill would recognize South Carolinians’ right to carry a handgun openly or concealed without a permit for self-defense. The Post and Courier quoted Pitts saying, “This bill is a very simple bill. It means, by definition of the Constitution, it gives you the ability to keep and bear arms without having to be permitted by the country.”
Governor McMaster concurs. According to The Charlotte Observer, McMaster’s spokesman, Brian Symmes, said, “Governor McMaster appreciates the House’s hard work on this bill, believes it is constitutional and will sign it if it reaches his desk.”
There are currently 12 states that require no permit for exercising the Second Amendment right to bear arms: Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming, and West Virginia. And permitless carry is the law of the land in 99.4 percent of Arkansas and Montana.

This is a South Carolina Carry Action Alert that requires your immediate attention please

On Monday April 17th the South Carolina Legislators will be back in session.  This session will be drawing to a close for the 2017 year very shortly and we need to remind them of the importance of the following items.
•   contact Luke Rankin and the entire Judiciary Committee about bringing HB 3930 to a vote
•   contact Senators Rice and Shealy individually and remind them of the importance of the bill getting voted on
•   urge the legislators to replace S449 with HB3930
•   urge the legislators to remove the House Judiciary Amendment requiring harsher penalties
•   urge the legislators to remove the compelled speech duty to inform
•   urge the legislators to adopt the SC Carry suggested amendments

There will be two Senate Judiciary Subcommittee meetings next week
Now is the time to act. Here's how you can help:
 1. CALL your senators.
 2. CALL the senators on the subcommittee.
 3. ENCOURAGE friends and family to do the same (and post on social media).

First Subcommittee Members: Malloy (Ch.), Shealy, Fanning, Rice, Senn

1.   urge the legislators to adopt the SC Carry amendments to H. 3930
2.   urge the legislators to support H.3930 once amended.

Second Subcommittee Members: Turner (Ch.), Malloy, ‎Kimpson, Climer, Goldfinch

1.   urge the legislators to oppose any and all gun control
