Looks like another ideal range day.
There's a small amount of activity over at Ashaway, by the sound of it, although it's not the open Sunday breakfast Shoot.
Well, it looks like more "Quiet-22" for can tops and can-busting, as well as some more .22 LR sabot testing...

Per Ashaway calendar:

Jack & Jill Shoot 8/13
On Sunday August 13th there will be a Jack & Jill shoot at the club starting at around 8:00 a.m. More Jill's are always needed. Come on down for a fun time with a BBQ to follow. Contact Kevin Kennedy at 401-932-6110 for more info or to let him know you'll be attending so they can order food.

Monthly Open Shoots
The first and third Sunday shoots will be on 6/4 and 6/18. Breakfast will be served from 7:00-9:30, trap, skeet and five-stand will be open. Pistol and rifle ranges are not open to the public unless accompanied by a club member.

Doesn't look like anyone is interested in shooting, so I'll just stash away the 64g GDSP and 124g GDHP reloads for a sunny day and settle in for a WNBA game ...

Well, figured I'd empty out some older 7.5x55mm before it rots away....and I need some boxer-primed brass to reload.
Put the B-27 out at the big pine tree (100m) and was surprised to get all 10 shots into the scoring rings; usually I just try to get all shots onto paper. I'm no marksman, I know, but I was pleasantly surprised when I recovered the target.
Also shot some cast bullets, sabots and other jacketed into my junk mail-filled box and soup & cat food can covers. I think I'm talented enough now to hit a barn door at 101 meters!

Today was .223 AR rifle and .380 pocket shooter day for me.

.223 was mostly my reloads, but also some Winchester PDX1s.  The PDX1s are expensive, but cause a lot of damage.

Yeah I know.  I thought of leaving out that sentence, because I figured SafeActionJackson would be demanding my testing protocols.  There hasn't been a peep out of him.  Maybe he had a stroke, because not everyone is drooling over gen 5 Glocks.

Careful!

Pics don't matter to me, but it does make the post a bit more exciting!

Now, how could anybody not find a rusty coffee can exciting?

A Dell desktop computer was recycled today. It was a Pentium 4 and weighed about 40lbs.

I like the cooling vent modifications you did on that.
What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" don't they get?

Plenty decent for some rifle shooting today.
Assorted plated and cast bullets launched in the K-31.  With some recently added optics, I can actually see something at 100 meters. Yippee!
Still get a kick out of my .22LR sabots. Dang, they make clean holes in the paper!

Repeat picture, but it is some of my results today. Still shooting a bit below my aim point (middle of face), but since these bullets are being lobbed downrange, it's close enough:

Well, after a month and a half of suppressed rimfire shooting in the backyard, the itch became intolerable. I broke down and hit the range today.

I kept it simple, partially out of desire and partially due to the fact that I forgot my Glock 34.  The time was spent with my Ruger GSR and a .32-20 Marlin. The need for taller sights, cold weather and erratic groupings seemed to indicate that the old Marlin might be best dealt with another time.

The Ruger, however, acquitted itself rather well.  Decent groupings were achieved with 147gr FMJ Perfecta and 180gr SP PPU. Both seemed to perform about the same with 1.5” groups at 100 yards and iron sights.

It was a good day.
