IDPA match are hosted at the following clubs/ranges:

Wolfs
Northwest Sportsman
Harwinton Rod & Gun
Sprague
Academi
Bridgeport

Call before attending as most will have some type of new shooter restrictions, or guidelines.  You can also do a search for USPSA.... which is very similar, often hosted at the same clubs/ranges.

safeactionjackson - Thanx for the list.  I am looking to do more pistol shooting this year and your list will come in handy.  I have spent most of my shooting years shooting trap and this year plan on moving to pistol.

Don't be shy, if you want to get together I'm in the Bristol area.

I've worked as a match director, safety officer, and been competing in IDPA for about 5 years now... and can surely show you some of the ropes (a lot of the stuff done on flat ranges don't translate in the real world, or form bad habits that are tough to brake).

Thank You. I am in. Noticed Academi does every Tuesday. Heading there this coming Tuesday to watch the first time. Emailed Wolf's, yet to receive a reply.

I did really well with my first 3-Gun a few weeks back in Vegas. Came in half way through the deck. I am Hooked!! Never knew about CT matches until just this month.

Thanks again for the leads. Awesomeness!
Maybe I'll see you on the range!

Thank you for the offer!!!!  I'm sure there are other members on the forum that appreciate your effort to help.

I think on the job training in real life events would be best found in Chicago, Baltimore or any on the list found in the link.
