Armslist Scams *WARNING*
« on: April 06, 2013, 02:32:05 PM »

I have noticed this alot as of late. I have contacted people about their ads and their reply always contain something about shipping the gun to you or the gun is out of state with a family member. They will even mention something about an FFL to seem more legit.

Never send any money always do face to face within the state!

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. A quick search on Armslist just using the gun from ad title will most likely reveal several other ads for the same gun, same pictures, and same information but with different prices and in different states. I have also found the exact same guns being sold on gun broker, same pictures with descriptions pulled right from auction and of course the original gun is in a different state with a different price.

Mark these as scams if you ever encounter these and NEVER send any amount of money.
Gun bans disarm victims, putting them at the mercy of murderers or terrorists who think nothing of breaking the gun laws.

A couple months ago I emailed an armslit seller about a Sig.  He asked me to send the money, as the rifle was in another state, but he could bring it to me after I paid for it....

Lots of scams on there, just like craigslist.

Well glad it didn't work out since the Sig 5 series were banned by name,(unlawful to own in Ct).

Wow good point!  I didn't even think to check "the list".  The ad said it was for sale In CT, so I just assumed it was good to go.
