Public Hearing 2/22/12 Environment Committee


The Environment Committee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Room 1C of the LOB. Please submit 50 copies of written testimony to Committee staff one hour prior to the start of the hearing in Room 1C of the LOB. Testimony can also be submitted to Committee staff the night before via e-mail, and sent to Jason.Bowsza@cga.ct.gov. Sign-up for the hearing will begin at 9:30 A.M. in Room 1C of the LOB. Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony.

HB 5120 AN ACT CONCERNING HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSES, IMPROVING SAFE HUNTING EDUCATION AND AMENDING DEFINITIONS FOR THE WILDLIFE DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. To promote participation in hunting and fishing and increase sales of licenses for said activities; to increase opportunities for prospective hunters to attend on-line education services provided by private vendors; to add the definition of "snare" to section 26-1 of the general statutes; and to make technical changes.

No, the pheasant stocking issue is part of the Governors proposed budget. The place to contact would be the appropriations committee, the Commissioner or DEEP, and/or you own legislator.
