Looking deeper into CT firearm fourms im reading about looong waits for carry permits, and even seeing that the gun haters tried to take away your "High Capacity" magazines last year.

Avoid the issue. Get your non-resident permit before you move and then just change addresses.

Thank you everyone for the input and information.

I spent this last Christmas in CT and really enjoyed my stay, seems like a great state for my daughter to grow up in (and hopefully learn to shoot one day) and I am excited for my move later this year.

Just seems very different coming from a state where you can literally buy a lower end AR-15 at Walmart, lol.

Offtopic Question - Anyone in the Army Reserve or CT National Guard? I plan to continue my service in one of these components, just havent made my choice yet, I herd there are not any MP units for Army Reserve in CT.

Are you really sure you want to come to CT or the northeast? Really scratch your head and ponder that.

I hope to be doing the opposite shortly. There may be some states that are worse from a 2A perspective, but the fact is there are a majority that are better.

I don't even want to go into economics. What state took top honors as far as worst to retire in? CT. The cost of living is through the roof. Look into the retroactive income tax increase this past year. That's how bad our state government is!

Bet your socks the anti-2a statists will be wanting to push this on us if they thought they could get away with it:

Permit rise triggers push for a gun limit

Quote
THE number of gun permits issued in NSW has almost doubled in the past five years, sparking calls for restrictions on how many guns people can acquire.
.
.
Greens NSW MP and firearms spokesman, David Shoebridge, said the Greens would introduce a bill to Parliament to restrict the number of weapons each person held to three.
