May be, may not be... who knows.

On the other side of the coin, it's a holiday, and cops are EVERYWHERE regardless. Valentine's day is no exception... single guys & gals might sit home & drink, then decide to run out later. Just speculation there.

I generally see cops at each intersection along Whaley Avenue during the weekends. I'd guess it's a show of force and a good chance for OT. There was a corpse found in the river below East Mountain recently...

I've been seeing a lot more traffic stops in newtown and redding.

I watched a lady pull away from one stop drive 2 miles then get stopped again.

The state needs to make up a several million dollar budget deficit, seems taxing us at twice the normal rate just wasn't enough for them.

Get used to it, you are going to see fined infractions go through the roof.

I have been seeing the same thing in my town, just this morning actually, and all along I 84 between Waterbury and Danbury. I agree, with the revenue basis for this.

.                                                                                                                          That's typical. I grew up in that area and boy do I have a story or two( that should only be told in person).

Also sometimes towns train together to save $. I've seen in newtown and monroe, cops from all over fairfield and new haven county doing k9 training in different empty buildings/lots and areas where there is water.

Like clockwork, you're seeing the next step in the State's financial disaster--enforcement.  In the midst of a recession, the Dems always raise taxes.  There's a one year lag between the initiation of the taxes and their effects.  It's been one year.  The government is running a deficit and can't raise taxes so it now moves onto "enforcement":  Traffic stops, fines for bars and restaurants, etc.

If you're driving, get ready for roadblocks to check  seatbelts, insurance, etc.

If you're a bar or restaurant that serves liquor, get ready to be fined for every towel on the bar or puff of smoke in the air.  The craziest one I saw a while back was a $1500 fine for a tiny radio used by the bar owner to listen to his son's ball game.   The liquor commission (in the liberal 9th Circuit) said the AM radio constituted "public entertainment" and said he failed to get a Cabaret License.

It's coming to CT.

Any non-union business might as well put a target on its back.
