anyone here know what the class III wait times are like in CT?  i just bought a suppressor and the wait is painful, only been a week...

NFA told me on the phone this week that it's typically taking 5-6 months now. She was very polite and said to feel free to call anytime. I don't think the wait time has anything to do with CT. Once your CLEO signs off and you mail it in, your in line nationally.

Each examiner works at their own speed. Some are fast some are not. It does matter who you are assigned to. Here in CT form 4s are running about 5 months. NFa is busier than ever. With more transfers than ever and less examiners than ever so it is not completely their fault. But some of them are dogs.

Just called ATF again... this time I was told to expect to wait 6 months from the "pending" date. In my case, my pending date is October 5th. The paperwork was sent to them in August. If they are accurate, it will take me a total of 8 months to get my Form 4 back. Twice as long as anything else has taken, at least for me.

i gotta question, where is a good place to purchase a suppressor? I know newington gun exchange and hoffmans said they could do it, but i'm looking to see what other people who have purchased one have to say. I live near manchester and don't mind a travel if they have a good track record selling them

I've bought them from Newington and from Joel Cramer at Remarcable Arms.

I purchased three suppressors from Major Malfunction (not a great experience, not worth it) and had them tranfered to JoJo's. August 24 I mailed the form 4's. Three weeks ago I get a letter from Christina Farris at BATFE. She took issue with my trust name. My trust name includes "also known as trust name abreviated" When we filled out the forms we did not include the "also known as" portion.  Took a few days of back and forth with BATFE and my attorney and I next day aired the forms back. I havent heard anything. The wait continues, going on 7 months as of 3/13/2012.

Also while at JOJO's I ordered a 4th can. That form 4 left sometime in October.

I ordered one through Major Malfunction back in June 2010 - called to check stock and price, told "we have plenty of them"  - called the following week with payment and the price was $50 more and now out of stock.  The can didn't make it to JoJo's until FEBRUARY and with the rate Form 4s are going I doubt I will get to take possession before November.

Bryon (The Major) has since changed the way he does business and no longer sells to individuals.
