I always liked any kind of motorsports, Left turn racing I never fully appreciated till I went to a firecracker 400 in Daytona.      (fires, delayed the race till Oct., it was first night race at Daytona, Dale Sr. won)
The speed is impressive, TV doesn't do it justice.
You should have a blast.
A couple precautions, I sugest you bring "Everything you will need" for Raceday to stay in place, including food, water, etc., & empty 5 gal. bucket with lid. The place is a Zoo, I have never experienced so many people in one place.

So Black, did you stay for the race last night? They are always looking for "the big one" at Daytona and they got it with 200 gallaons of jet fuel! What a night and what a race. Really sorry for Danica, she always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. (I agree...I'd much rather look at her than any of the guys)!. But gotta root for Joey Lagano too, our hometown boy!

Crazy couple of days for the Daytona 500, rain and strange crashes. Danica getting wrecked by her own team mate. Then the fiery crash with 40 laps left last night. Amazing to have the entire track to have a wreck on, and the guy manages to find the one perfect spot to get loose and hit the jet dry truck holding 200 gallons of jet fuel. Good that all involved walked away. Cringed when they dragged the wrecked truck down the embankment and the trailer portion with the demolished jet dry engine left a nice gouge in the track.

Yup I stayed. Didn't wunna miss it and glad I did. The race was crazy. From the crash on the second lap to the jet truck going a blaze. Such an exciting experience.

Quite funny actually... During clean up, Kyle Busch got out his car and ran across the track to the bathroom. Then all the other drivers started getting out and JR and another driver (didn't see who it was) was walking to the porta potty and they both started running and racing each other to it lol

Our seats were right on the superstretch where all the cars stopped. So we got to go down and see all the drivers and there cars. I think we were on tv when they were interviewing logano and everyone. Got some good vids of the truck burning too.

They even brought water bottles to all the drivers and we didn't see who but one of them (bush, logano, JR, biffle ) threw there's over the fence and my girl ran and got it. Lol she was so happy. Specially when all the girls called to logano he didn't do anything but when she yelled "JOEY" he turned and waved. Haha it was nice seeing her that happy.

I'll post some videos and pictures when I get home in the morning. Still in north Carolina as of now. Haha

At one point while they were interviewing the drivers, Joey Logano was in the background and he obviously responded to a fan calling him and turned and waved! Bet that was when she called to him. How cool!

That will be a race to remember. Have a safe trip back home. See you at the range soon.
