Sean O's Saiga Conversion/Build (AK15/AR-47)
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:36:44 PM »
So I finally finished my Saiga .223 conversion a couple of weeks ago. I decided I wanted a "tacti-cool" AK that resembled an AR as close as possible. We'll call it an AK15 or AR-47 lol. Since "myglimk" gave conversion process pics I won't. I had the barrel threaded and brake pinned. The rest of the work was done myself.  8)

Specs:
DPH Arms Beryl Scope Mount
UTG Quad Rail
Tapco G2 Trigger Group
Tapco T6AK Stock(Pinned)
Primary Weapon Systems J-Tac47 Muzzle Brake(Pinned)
Mission First Tactical EPG47 Pistol Grip(AR Profile)
Strikefire Vortex RDS
SOG Armory VFG
I will be adding a Tromix extended mag release

I will mention the weapon light is not a "weapon light" before someone else does, but it works for the time being. 1,000 hours of runtime 9 extra bright L.E.D.s. (Paid $10 for a 4 pack at CVS  :o )

Now for the porn....

I figure with all the stuff you've got on that gun, the longer you have that tree around, the more likely you'll add some Christmas balls onto it.

I kid, I kid...

Looks good, why not fill in the former trigger group pin holes with 3/16 plastic plugs from Lowes? There like $0.19 a piece. They look very much like rivets and def. better than open holes.
