I saw this...
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=273072389
2 questions:
- Do you think thats the original upper even though the barrel is marked 5.56, I thought they were chambered for .223 only.
- Are the sub 10k SNs preban in CT? I noticed that on the list and theyre not marked sporter or AR15.

It's a post ban. The only preban Colt without "AR15" or "Sporter" Markings is the Colt 6521 and is marked "Colt Carbine."
While the recieivers are rolled ".223," Colt uses a 5.56 chamber. The barrel is marked correctly.

Thanks CT,
Did they start marking the SNs for those at 10,000?
I was looking at
http://www.ar15.com/content/legal/serialNumberList.html
Specifically the "CCH010000 and Above - Post Ban MT6700, MT6700C and MT6700CH series, 1998 production"
I thought they might have done a set of lower numbers that were preban.

Not sure about the serial numbers but there are no prebans marked just "match target."
