but I would rather shoot my S&W 500 one heanded than shoot that snubbie with full bote .357, it is like catching a 90 mph fastball barehanded...Ouch!

I will gladly second that. Haven't shot the .500S&W YET, but I can imagine that it isn't nearly as punishing as barn-burner .357's in the Scandium J-frames! These are the guns that give J-frames a bad name... they're too light to be useful, & too painful to shoot on a regular basis! Needs to be steel!  :P

One reallyyyyyy sweet piece is the SP101. A tad on the heavy side, but soaks up recoil VERY nicely.

Love my 3" sp101.  Its heavy to carry and the trigger is long and heavy but very smooth

I have never seen commercial .38 special configured as +P+.  Wouldn't that approach .357 ballistics? I have seen 9mm in +P+ loadings.

Most reputable manuf offer it, however you won't find it at wallyworld.

It is a defensive ammo, generally.
Federal, speer and such all offer it. But you need to visit a shop with deeper product lines to get it.

I have had an interesting discussion on the 357/38+ with a friend recently,
I respect his professional opinion,

He practices with 357/38+ but keeps std pressure 38 jhp his house gun. Theory being about over penetration at those close 10-20ft distances. Possibly exiting into surrounding house.

It seems to me like a reasonable concern and being it might be used by a lighter framed female in the house the additional control would seem appropriate.

Be Prepared, you never know when you will be in just a plain old battle of whits. Arm your mind as well.
