[I have actually never bought ammo online, I usually buy local, I feel like I am doing it wrong now.

The price of bulk ammo is just not one of those things that your local shops are going to be able to compete on when compared to some of the bigger online companies.  In general, if you shoot the most common pistol/rifle calibers that people buy bulk ammo for, you're not going to do much better than AIM Surplus any day of the week.  When I've seen them beat, it's only by a few bucks.

Cabela's is good for defensive ammo purchases - they generally have a good selection and the stuff isn't overpriced.  Most gunshops mark up ammunition pretty badly.

I'm paying less than a few months ago.  You guys need more practice with the interwebs.

I was shooting next to a kid at High Rock a few months ago. A week later I'm sitting at Cabelas waiting for them to process my M&P 9 purchase and see him there. I noticed he was about to get taken to the cleaners for a case of M855 and clued him in. I wrote down a handful of sites off the top of my head and all he could say was WOW and THANKS.

I don't understand why people buy ammo locally. It's all well and good to support your local shop, but come on. It's a no brainer. Once in a while I'll grab a few boxes of HST from Tactical Arms, but that the extent of my local ammo purchases. If they dropped the prices we could talk.

I bet you paid too much for your M&P 9 at Cabelas I know Hoffman's would have been at least $50 cheaper for one example.

Negative. I'll take that bet. Hell, Hoffman's couldn't even get the FDE M&P in 9mm.

That's good to know, may be they are coming down on their prices. Not arguing with you , but I have never seen a gun at Cabela's cheaper than I could buy it for at Hoffman's. Don't egt me wrong I love Cabela's. I am not familiar with FDE though, what is that?

I believe FDE stands for Flat Dark Earth.  It's the color of the firearm.

At times, Walmart doesn't seem to want to do anything with firearms, other than just for the fact it's an extra source of revenue.

I find it funny that the one in Torrington carries holsters... but is ULTRA-ANTI-HANDGUN.

Jason is correct about the color. Cabelas had their carry kit on sale. Came with 3 mags, Bladetech holster and dual mag carrier and mag loader. All of the extras I have since sold and put towards the APEX trigger upgrade.

The easiest way to put shooters out of business is to keep raising the price on their ammo.
